The Doors are Open at Dragonfly Yoga Studies, June 2020
Welcome back! The doors are open at Dragonfly Yoga Studies in downtown Fort Walton Beach, Fl. What a whirlwind these past couple of months have been but through it all we’ve stayed connected and gotten through it together. We were elated to re-open our yoga studio about a month ago for limited enrollment yoga classes. There’s nothing quite like seeing familiar faces in person again. And for those who are not comfortable with in-studio classes, we still offer an unlimited number of live and archived online yoga classes on our private Facebook page.
We have also launched some exciting new yoga classes and a new launch date for our Advanced Yoga Teacher Training (AYTT) program. Get all the exciting June news here!
Yoga Classes – New Guidelines, New Formats
In-studio yoga classes have resumed with Enrollment limitations. We follow all CDC recommendations and state issued guidelines with classes limited to TEN participants and you must register online. The classes do not involve contact of any kind, including adjustments in postures. You must bring your own mat, blocks and blankets. No studio props will be used.
If you are more comfortable wearing a mask during yoga class please bring your own. If you sign up for a yoga class and do not attend, you will not be refunded. You may, however, remove your name via your on-line account from class prior to class time. Additional private classes may soon be available for small groups. We are excited to have you back!
For anyone who is not comfortable with in-studio classes, you can still connect with the Dragonfly Yoga Studies instructors through our virtual yoga classes. You can sign up for our virtual online yoga classes here by making a donation and being added to the private Facebook page where you have unlimited access to online classes from the Dragonfly Yoga instructors. We have been overwhelmed by the response and positive feedback and are so grateful for this virtual opportunity to connect with existing and new yoga friends!

Surrender
I love my yoga practice. Every time I commit to teaching a specific teaching all this juicy awareness rises. I taught a yoga workshop on Surrender. So my meditations took this turn.
I love Yoga Sutra 2.46
sthira sukham asanam Steadiness in the practice. It’s not about lack of effort; it’s about being in a state of ease with the effort.
It’s about not straining.
Here’s the juicy part……..
To me, the opposite of effort is surrender.
The opposite of straining is collapse.
The steadiness and intelligence I choose hold in the postures, gives me the intelligence to surrender in a timely way. In life, if I am straining with something…in the struggle…grappling, sweating, grunting. Eventual collapse is inevitable.
Zero intelligence.
Zero choice.
Crazy Simple.
The litany that is currently playing in my head?
CURIOUS EFFORT.
How about you? Can you join me?
Together, we can find that fine line
and stay to the steady side of it.
yes? Yes. YES!
