About The Yoga Workshop

Complaining evaporates the subtle essence of love. You can choose to exist in the vast, wild dimension of love or you can live marinating in dark thoughts. Yet some part of you knows that love is the reality of the universe. Everything arises out of love, everything exists in love and everything recedes into love.

When you choose love over fear, you begin to manifest the life that you want to live. You realize that you choose your own reality. You can choose to love in any situation. The abundance of the heart holds an untold region of awareness. There is powerful choice in this realm, where love can and does heal the wounds of the heart.

About the 300 hour Kali Natha Yoga Teacher Training Module

The 300-hour Yoga Alliance-certified Teacher Training program has an emphasis on Kali Natha Yoga, a classical yoga of over 60 vinyasa flow series designed to unite the heart and body into moving prayer. This ancient yoga combines unique asana, pranayama, mudra and mantra to awaken the deepest realms of the heart.

Guests to the public yoga workshop will have the opportunity to join Swami Jaya Devi for a special Kali Natha Yoga session on Saturday, August 3rd at 1 pm. This yoga workshop weekend also includes a 300-Hour Kali Natha Yoga Teacher Training Module for any yoga teacher training students who qualify.

“Recently, I was introduced to the practice of Kali Natha Yoga and I am absolutely enchanted with it! The potent manner in which pranyama, mudras, mantra and meditation are interwoven through a Kali Natha Yoga class is a most evocative blend. I believe that The Kali Natha Yoga experience powerfully lingers with the practitioner long after the mat is put away. The idea that many, many more of Ma’s lovingly crafted sequences awaits, thrills me with promise.”

What is a Prana?

Pranayama or Prana is the yogic breath. It refines the energy body. Pranayama revitalizes the entire body, opens the heart, and calms the mind. Through these practices we begin to learn the basics of concentration and meditation. We develop an ability to clear the body and the mind, developing the necessary capacity for one-pointed focus.

Pranayama is one of the most important tools in your yoga practice. It is centering and grounding, bringing you constantly back into an awareness of the body. Staying aware of the breath during your practice creates a deeper experience of yoga, an experience of real union. If your mind is wandering when you are practicing your asanas, you are not practicing yoga, you are practicing duality – thinking while in a yoga pose.

Pranayama changes your experience of yoga. It is one thing that helps differentiate the asanas from any other physical exercise. Linking the mind to the breath as you move the body – this is powerful stuff. The power of pranayama can fuel your practice to ever deepening levels, and will affect how you live “off the mat.”
