The Dragonfly Yoga Studio is honored to offer a weekly Chair Yoga class led by Cindy Ugarte, a 200-hour yoga alliance certified teacher, every Wednesday at 1 pm. Chair yoga is a form of yoga as therapy developed by Lakshmi Voelker-Binder in 1982, practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. The poses, or asanas, are often adaptations of modern yoga poses. Enjoy modified yoga poses that can be done while seated in a chair - eliminate stress and improve your posture while sitting down. Cindy is currently studying for her 500 hour yoga teacher training certification and is so passionate about her practice and helping others. Cindy is currently researching fall prevention and ways to reduce falls and injuries. She is a firm believer that chair yoga can be part of the solution.
